Broadsheet is a fabulous Melbourne (and Sydney) based website covering a whole range of stuff from food, drink, nightlife, fashion, and more interestingly, art and entertainment. At the moment the mega Melbourne Art Fair (which I will visit this weekend and report back next week) is the big art event in Melbourne, with 900 artists and 30,ooo expected visitors. Broadsheet, conversely, has written a really interesting piece focusing on the two satellite art fairs running at the same time as the Art Fair. ‘The New Fair’ and ‘Not Fair’, both located in Melbourne, are modelled on international satellite art fairs and are much smaller events. They offer a far more intimate, selective and sophisticated art experience, showcasing art that you won’t see at the Melbourne Art Fair.
