Without Pier Gallery in Melbourne are again having their very successful pre-Christmas exhibition, starting 2 December. All their artists are invited to submit 6 small paintings. Last year they had so many that the exhibition ran across both their galleries – Cheltenham being the original one and Hampton the more more recent addition.
This year I have done a set of bird paintings, using some gold leaf here and there to encompass a bit of Christmas spirit. The gold leafing process is incredibly delicate and time consuming but I think it’s worth it for the end result. Last year’s gold leafed animals sold out on opening night which was very encouraging.
